The Vision
ChatGPT answers questions. Coded builds developers. Coded's founder wanted a learning app that gives beginners structure and accountability instead of an endless chat window: a set path, daily practice, and an AI coach that guides rather than does the work for you.
The Challenge
Most people who teach themselves to code stall for the same reasons:
- No clear structure or daily path
- Reading about code without writing and running it
- AI tools that hand over full answers
- No visible progress
- A content team that needs to manage courses without a developer
Our Solution
We built Coded end to end: the mobile app, the backend APIs, and the admin portal.
Structured 30-day courses
Weeks, days, and lessons, with locked progression so only the current day opens. Python and JavaScript courses are live.
In-app code editor
Every lesson leads to a quiz, then a coding challenge that runs in the app against real tests. Streaks and XP only when every test passes.
Controlled AI coach
Hints and guidance, no full solutions.
Progress
Streaks, XP, badges, and certificates.
Secure accounts
Email, Google, and Apple sign-in, MFA with authenticator apps, and account recovery.
Admin portal
Users, courses, content, AI-assisted course generation, analytics, support tickets, and push notifications.
Technical Architecture
- Mobile: React Native for iOS and Android
- Backend: Cloudflare Workers APIs (Hono) with queues for course generation and scheduled streak jobs
- Database and auth: Supabase
- AI: Groq for the coding coach and content generation
- Admin: React, Vite, Tailwind on Cloudflare Pages
- Email and push: Resend, Firebase
- Deep linking: Universal Links and Android App Links for password reset into the app
Impact
Coded is live with a guided learning path, a working code runner, and an AI coach, managed by the founder's team through the admin portal.
